Wright Tech is gearing up for a multi-day visit from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) as part of a school accreditation process.
A team of education professionals will be meeting with staff and students, watching classes, reviewing student work, and interviewing members of the school community from October 18-21. By the end of their visit, the NEASC team will make a recommendation on whether Wright Tech receives its initial accreditation. Wright Tech opened as a new school in 2015.
David Awwad, Related Department Head for Math and Science, has overseen the year-long preparation process. The staff has conducted a self-study in several areas, including school climate, instruction, and curriculum. Parent and student surveys have been conducted. Student work and other artifacts have been physically and digitally organized for the visitation team. Awwad is optimistic that Wright Tech will showcase the 9 trades and 6 academic areas well to the visiting team.
“We’re ready to show them this is a great place to learn and grow,” said Awwad.
