Where will a technical high school degree take you? Anywhere you want.

Ever wonder what a graduate from a Connecticut technical high school does later in life?

For one former automotive technology student, it is to become the Secretary of Education under President Joe Biden. Dr. Miguel Cardona, Connecticut’s Education Commission, who graduated from H.C. Wilcox Technical High School in Meriden, CT, will in short order oversee the country’s education system.

For others, it is to build a successful company, start a business, or work as a weatherman on a local radio station, like Gil Simmons on Channel 8.

In an effort to showcase CTECS alumni who have gone on to fame or notoriety, a new YouTube channel has been established. The brief segments are aimed at showing the valuable trade-area and soft skills  – leadership, communication, work ethic, critical thinking – that employees are looking for.
