June 10, 2024
The Black Girls Rock!® Film Fest has selected “STILL GIRL,” a documentary by Wright Tech’s Digital Media Department Head Jennifer Poteau for its 2024 lineup.
The festival, which is held in Atlanta, GA from June 21-23, highlights outstanding films by creators of color. “STILL GIRL” explores the empowerment of young women of color through workshops in emotional intelligence, self-love, and leadership, intertwining their stories with broader historical and cultural contexts. The documentary has been selected to be screened in the documentary short category.
“It’s an incredible honor to have ‘STILL GIRL’ featured at the BGR! Film Fest. I hope it motivates viewers to support our mission,” said Poteau, who, in addition to her work at Wright Tech, serves as Creative Director of SAVE GIRLS ON FYER.
The BLACK GIRLS ROCK!® Awards, hosted by Academy Award-nominated actress Danielle Brooks, will broadcast live from Atlanta’s Fox Theatre on June 27. BLACK GIRLS ROCK!® honors trailblazers, entertainers, community activists, pioneers, and rising stars.
