New cell phone policy limits use to cafeteria and passing time

No ear bud or cell phone use in classrooms
Under a newly developed policy designed to limit distractions during instruction in both trade and academic settings, Wright Tech is implementing a school-wide policy limiting use of cell phones, headphones, and ear buds. All three are no longer permitted in Wright Tech classrooms. Under the policy being instituted by Principal Jayme Beckham, students will be able to use them during passing time and in the cafeteria.
In the classroom, teachers have the flexibility to have students put their phones in a sleeve at the front of the room, or ask students to put them in their backpacks and out of sight at the start of class. If a student uses a cell phone during class, teachers are to refer the student immediately to administration for disciplinary action.
